We first opened our doors for business in 1895, as the Agricultural Bank of Western Australia. In 1945, we became a trading bank and over the next 50 years, grew to become a market leader in our home state of WA. We change our name in 1994 to the Bank of Western Australia Ltd and started trading as Bankwest.
Today, we are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Commonwealth Bank Group, which is one of Australia's leading providers of integrated financial services.
