The central business area of ​​Uerdingen will soon get a bookstore again and thus finally be able to compensate for an important segment in the retail offering of the Rhine city that has been missing since the end of 2019: This is the positive result of the “New Uerdingen Bookstore” competition launched by several players at the beginning of July! The decision was made on Wednesday evening at the jury meeting in the Uerdingen branch of the Sparkasse Krefeld, alongside the Dujardin and CURRENTA companies as well as the economic development agency, one of the competition sponsors. Three exclusively female founding teams qualified for the final selection - and the only "solo application" won: The 38-year-old communications graduate Anja Choinowski , who is a book-savvy Uerdingen woman who is well-connected thanks to extensive volunteer work in schools and daycare centers, was the winner selected after presenting her concept in a very differentiated way and convinced the jury of it. She wants to take up further training as a bookseller. Until the end of the course, employed specialist staff should support you in the start-up phase of your business. In addition to an entry fee of 10,000 euros, she will now be able to take with her extensive advice from the “Expert coaching founders” network and further support from business development as a tailwind for her start-up.
