Job role
The Role
The successful applicant will join the Training Planning Group within Training Force Headquarters. Our primary purpose is to support Navy by providing oversight to the development, management and review of the Navy Training Plan process, to provide Navy senior leadership team with long-range, capability-based analysis that identifies potential workforce risks and opportunities.
You will use your data analysis skills and knowledge to resolve problems and support data driven decision making. Working closely with your team, you will use a variety of tools to interpret data and communicate important insights to achieve strategic business outcomes.
In this position you will play a key role in shaping the Navy Training Plan. Reporting to Manager of Training Planning Group, you will assist in driving the automation of the Navy Training Plan Process by providing fidelity to the data in the processing of amendments, multifarious audits and initial set up of scheme of complement for Personnel Proficiency Requirements. Additionally, you will undertake research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support or operational support work to achieve results. You will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing improvement of work practices.

Training Planning Group – Training Force Headquarters - is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to provide essential support in the area of workforce planning and data analysis. Located at HMAS Kuttabul, Garden Island, New South Wales, 2011. Reporting to Manager of Training Planning Group you will provide oversight to the development, management and review of the Navy Training Plan process, including the performance of data analysis to support data driven decision making.

To be successful in the role, you will need to be a team focused individual who possesses strong analytical, planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to critical think and problem solve. You will need to have sound interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to foster strong collaborative working relationships within a network of internal and external stakeholders.
Possess the ability to apply data analytical techniques to gather, analyse and manipulate data information from a variety of sources to best support strategic business decision making and outcomes. Highly organised with strong administrative skills and demonstrated ability to meet non-negotiable timeframes in flexible and high-pressure environments. The successful applicant would ideally have a resource planning background and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
