Job role
You will complete a Certificate III Horticulture (Parks & Gardens) over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
Maintain parks, gardens, reserves and sport fields
Control plant pests, diseases and disorders
Operate plant and machinery
Water, weed and conduct general horticultural maintenance duties
Turf maintenance and management
Liaise with the public while maintaining public parks and gardens
Carry out other duties that are within the limits of the employee's skills, competence and ability as required by Upper Lachlan Shire Council.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to meet the following selection criteria:
Ability to commence in January 2021
Commitment to both on and off the job training
Ability to work as part of a team
Genuine interest in the horticulture industry
Work in a physically demanding outdoor role
A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work safely and follow instructions
P1 drivers’ licence or above
