Job role
Bupa is a leading health insurance provider in Australia. Our customers include over 4.7 million Australian residents and international visitors who come to Australia as a tourists, workers and students. This role in HI will use their experience in Private Health Insurance and business improvement programs to help the squads and teams they support to improve their performance. They will identify methods to use at relevant points of the initiative cycle to improve performance, while leveraging their knowledge and experience on specific topics to accelerate outcomes for Bupa. The role is required to collaborate, listen, analyse and give structured and constructive feedback to help people improve their capability, ensuring that any consistent challenges are surfaced and plans for remediation are captured, coordinated and actioned collaboratively.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting assigned squads and cross functional teams achieve their objectives and key results by applying relevant knowledge of agile, lean, project management, financial modelling, and strategic problem-solving;
Coaching squad and team members in key capabilities, including agile, lean, project management, financial rigour and strategic problem-solving - at relevant times of the initiative cycle and objective measuring of capability uplift in squad members;
Positively challenge the squad leads and members to focus on continuous improvement, supporting them see opportunities for faster, more efficient value delivery; contribute to creating an environment of continuous learning, a safe place for people to fail fast and learn. Along with other Performance coaches champion this culture across all work streams and HI more broadly.
Identifying squad specific capability gaps and addressing them with other Performance Coaches, Workstream Leads, People Business Partners and the Head of Performance Coaching by supporting the development of measurable actions and programs to raise capability;
What do I need?
Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline;
Deep expertise in two of the following disciplines and moderate knowledge in the remaining three: agile, lean operations, project management, financial rigour/ commercial modelling (including business case development) and strategic problem-solving
A strong understanding of customer experience and customer centricity principles
Strong track record of delivering impact and performance in PHI
Experience in large-scale change programs, particularly implementing business strategies
Experience in influencing and coaching cross-functional teams
Strong listening and comprehension skills
Demonstrates patience, resilience and an ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
Systems thinking - ability to connect pieces of work from across the business to reduce duplication of efforts
Intermediate coaching approaches to build technical and people capabilities
A pragmatic, approachable and supportive coaching style
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong commercial aptitude
Enthusiasm, relentless optimism and determination
