About the role
The Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and updating predictive and preventive Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) programmes to ensure user requirements can be safely achieved and failures predicted with minimum levels of maintenance across the LHD Platforms and associated supporting shore systems. Successful implementation of RCM will lead to an increased through life cost effectiveness, reliability, system uptime, and a greater understanding of the materiel risk within the LHD platforms.
The incumbent shall work in a team environment and under limited supervision to complete asset reliability optimisation activities in accordance with relevant project priorities to achieve ACPC technical, schedule and cost goals. As well as providing technical expertise, the incumbent shall be required to provide guidance and mentorship to the Asset management section team members.
Develop and establish collaborative relationships with LHD Enterprise staff to understand LHD Fleet operations and reliability issues
Work with LHD staff and subcontractors to establish a resilient electronic Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR)
Conduct Engineering assessment and make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority
Monitor LHD System performance through; Identification of Supportability Elements and System Performance Metrics, Analysis of supportability data, Performing Materiel Support Evaluation and Performing/evaluating Predictive Modelling
Undertake analysis tasks to identify optimum support solutions against a set of mission and support requirements (Including but limited to Root Cause Analysis & Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis)
Critically assess design and products including the interpretation and reporting of analysis results
Assist in the preparation of business cases that support changes in maintenance for customer consideration
Participate in the development and implementation of selected RCM Solution changes, including Integration and validation of selected support designs and changes
Influence and oversee product change management and quality control processes associated with selected Support System changes and Review, participate / execute Supportability Engineering tasks in effecting Support System changes, including: FELSA, RAM, FMECA, RCM, LORA, FRACA (URDEF Failure), Sparing and LCC analyses
Analyse, interrogate, manipulate, and report supportability, defect, and performance data in accordance with project and Defence reporting requirements. This will include contributing to periodic reports, including responding to and production of special reports and investigations
Contribute to and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
About you
Essential
Engineering degree / Engineering qualification to a minimum of certificate level in the required field
Relevant experience in a reliability engineering role
Demonstrated experience in the support and/or development of Logistics Support and Analysis artefacts
Working knowledge of an Asset Management environment
Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
MUST be an Australian Citizen
