A newly created opportunity for a People Policy and Risk Specialist to join our People team, to be accountable for undertaking programs of work within and for the People Team related to the Risk Management Framework and the Policy Management Framework, and Risk and Policy more broadly. Reporting to the People Policy and Risk Leader, as a risk specialist, you will form a critical part of the People Team's first line of defence on all matters risk and compliance related. The successful applicant can be based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney. How will I help? Key accountabilities include (not limited to): Assist in implementing a strategic and consistent People Policy and Risk approach across the market unit. Development of a program of issue spotting and testing internal controls and advising business units on consistent approaches. Advise, guide and support managers and leaders with matters relating to policy and risk with a specific emphasis on delivering to agreed timeframes and outcomes against internal and external audit requirements. Assist in the development and implementation of frameworks, policies, systems, processes and practices in relation to People team policy and management of People-team related risk. Participate in the implementation of Policy and Risk training capability and delivery. Participate in development and maintenance of databases and resource libraries relevant to risk management and People policy What's in it for me? Tertiary graduate or post-graduate degree in Risk Management, Human Resources, Industrial Relations/Workplace Relations, or related degree. Consultancy, advisory and/or management experience, inclusive of a demonstrable set of achievements in risk management and policy (broadly defined) in a large and complex organization. Demonstrable experience in the successful support, development and implementation of risk management strategies, frameworks, systems, processes and policies (with a HR focus focus). Proven ability to perform and deliver under time constraints. Able to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including more senior leaders, technical and functional specialists, business facing People-team Heads of and Partners, operational and line managers Proven ability to convert information and data into knowledge, and to communicate that knowledge in a meaningful and useful way. Ability to manage and prioritise competing demands with a client-focused and outcomes-centred approach. What is it like to work there?
